east of downtown Las Terrenas on the el Portillo road, Residencia
Las Palmas al Mar offers a seaside tropical oasis of 6 comfortably-
appointed, duplexes of 12 villas skillfully sited amidst a garden of native
plants and colorful flowers.
The 12 residencies are clustered around a central
pool and are two-stories with two bedrooms, one upstairs and one
downstairs. There is also a spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchenette.
Each villa can accommodate up to six persons.
Each bedroom is equipped with it’s own
ceiling fan and bathroom with built-in hair dryer. The upstairs master bedroom
has a large sofa-bed capable of sleeping two additional guests. Both bedrooms
are tastefully and comfortably decorated and the dual floor layout affords
a comfortable degree of separation. In addition, 2 villas are equipped with
air-conditioning in the downstairs bedrooms and they may be rented for an
additional charge.
The combined living and dining room is equipped
with cable television with 34 channels, cd-dvd player, high-speed DSL internet
hookup, ceiling fan and a built in settee. A built in safe is also provided
for your valuables. There is even an automatic power source should local
electrical service fail.
In the kitchen you will find all the pots, pans
and appliances needed to prepare sumptuous meals. There is also a filtered
water system producing softened, drinkable water. The dining table seats
four and is conveniently located adjacent to the kitchen cooking space.
In addition to the tropical ocean beach
with its clear and protected waters and nearby Punta Popi just
steps away from the property, you can lounge on the spacious sundeck
around the centrally located pool as you luxuriate in the Caribbean’s
golden sunshine.
Each villa has a large, covered porch,
a great place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. In addition
to comfortable lounge chairs on the porch there is also a gas BBQ
grill for those outdoor, festive occasions. Nightly
rates start at $55usd and weekly and monthly rates, including long-term
rentals, are also available.
In addition to the security of a night watchman
on the villas’ grounds, your villa comes with twice weekly maid and
linen service. These may be upgraded to daily service. Dry cleaning and
laundry services are also available through the receptionist as are many
other services including airport pickup and delivery, car rentals and day
trips. Just ask the friendly staff about other available local services
and they will be glad to assist in the enjoyment of your tropical vacation.
